What Reader Species Are You? (From Laura e-Kelly’s Blog)

The advantage of keeping a pulse on social media networks especially those connected with the book and publishing community is discovering fun and creative finds like this Reader Species chart created by Laura E. Kelly (Click to view at original large size.):

What Species of Reader Are You?--Infographic

In reading the chart, I’ve confirmed that I am indeed:

  • part of the “Compulsive” genus
  • rooted as a “Cherisher”
  • am a “Book Preserver”
  • a “Book Worshipper”
  • and a “Book Hoarder”
  • I also show symptoms of a “Book Rescuer”
  • who is a “Comfort Reader”
  • and a “Book Swagger”
  • and a “Sleepy Bedtime Reader”
  • as well as a “Book Evangelist”
  • And while I’d like to think of myself as a “Complicated Reader,”
  • I’m actually a “Book Snob”
  • and a “Critic”
  • as well as “Reader the Obscure”
  • and must confess that I’m somewhat of a “Delayed Onset Reader.”

Friday Fun: What Kind of Book Lover Are You?

05.24.2013

By Zara D. Garcia-Alvarez / @ZaraAlexis

When asked what the name of my book blog was when I first created it almost two years ago, I was met with slightly confused faces that said, Huh? A biblio-what?

I didn’t realize there are so many names for the different types of book lovers until I came across this text:

Now, that I’ve read the list, I realize I’m a combination of a Bibliognoste, a Bibliomane, a Bibliomaniac, a Bibliophile, and a Bibliotaphe!

Which type of “biblio” are you?

Friday Feature: A Very Eloquent Rendition of The Three Little Pigs

Friday Feature: A Very Eloquent Rendition of The Three Little Pigs

I didn’t really have anything to post for today, but then I remembered this great video clip my brother found on YouTube that I just found equally hilarious and intelligent and I loved it!

Because it’s Friday (or at least the last remnants of Friday), I thought I could share it with you. If you’ve already seen it, then I apologize. If you haven’t, you really should.

Literacy goes a long way and many thanks goes to our old friend, Billy Shakespeare.

Happy Friday!

Just for fun, why not re-tell a nursery rhyme or fairytale using Shakespearean English?

Leave a snippet of it here in the comments. Give it a try!

When I discovered etsy, I gushed much like I do when I receive a book in the mail or find a trinket in a vintage shop.

And what better way to merge my love of books with my love of shopping? Etsy has been one the key sources in allowing me to do this—or at the very least, pin some fun items onto Pinterest.
