Stacking the Shelves
07.08.2012

My husband has kept silent about the books that are piling up in neat stacks along our staircase, but I’ve noticed the looks. The looks of confusion mixed with frustration and dismay. My husband’s a little worried about our bank account and the explosion of my book budget that has gone schizophrenic. But, he’s also worried he might have to build another bookshelf. We already own seven…I think…or eight…and now, there’s the staircase.
So, in fairness, I have to admit today’s stack is actually a haul over two weeks. That’s good right? That’s self-control (and trying to appease your concerned husband).
Here’s my haul for the past two weeks:
Books for review from publishers:
Thank you to Able Muse Press for providing me with a media review copy of the book.

***
Thank you to Random House of Canada for providing me with new books for review.
Books I bought (in secret):

***
Midnight Never Come is about faeries so I’m especially looking forward to reading it. And I plan to mark up The Ultimate Guide to Wild Flowers in North America with flower meanings like the main character in The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh!
***
***
And as a treat, I bought myself a mammoth “Mug of Coffee.” Its size is equivalent to that of a swimming pool.
Books that fell from the sky from my lucky stars:
***
A special thank you to Dreamonus for picking my name out of a lottery for an ARC of Beneath the Shadows and to Melanie from A Year of Jubilee Reviews for the book, One Thousand Gifts!
***
***
Thank you to Thomas Nelson Publishers for my audio book win of Love Lifted Me via their online contest on Twitter!

What did you lug home this week?
